Politico does it again. It was almost exactly four years ago they published the first story about Herman Cain's sexual harassment allegations. That was October 30th, 2011, which was just 11 days after Cain gained a small lead in the RCP average. The parallels are kind of spooky.

Carson is taking a beating on PredictIt.

Before the Politico article he was leading the 'who will win Iowa', priced at 35¢ but now he is down to 3rd, priced at 21¢ (40% drop). He has also dropped from 14¢ to 10¢ on who will win GOP nomination (now ranked below Kasich). And he is now tied with Paul as 4th most likely to drop out  next (priced jumped from 1¢ to 11¢)

so apparently the Popeye's Chicken robbery story isn't true either. (or at least verifiable)

What is weird is that Carson has a genuine interesting story. Rising from poverty in Detroit to renowned neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins is pretty damn impressive. Why the need to exaggerate and/or invent these little  anecdotes?

Politico clearly screwed up yesterday, but the WSJ stuff could sink him or bring out more stories that don't stand up to scrutiny.  And WSJ is harder than most to shrug off as the liberal media.

There is another angle to the WSJ story and that is that he appears to be lying about being named "the most honest student"...that is getting a lot of LOLs on social media today. The story is moving from one of scrutiny to mockery. At the very least this is going to deflate his GE polling, because most non Republicans really dont know much about Carson.

All the stuff about how he sees himself as some kind of gift from God explains that picture with Klingon Jesus. Here are a couple of other quotes:

How do you deal with someone who thinks he is a divine instrument on a holy mission? Someone like that is not the kind of person who can compromise or negotiate, he is right because Jesus is his copilot
