Ok guys! What happens if the following scenario plays out??

On the Democratic side, Bernie Sanders shocks the party and grabs an absolute majority of the delegates. I'll leave the VP to you guys.

On the Republican side, Donald Trump is able to squeak out a last primary win that puts him over the top and clinches the nomination. His VP will be in your hands too.

The beltway Republicans and beltway Democrats don't know what to do! Luckily enough, there's a viable third party ticket: the Libertarians. The Libertarians decide to run former Governor of New Mexico Gary Johnson as their Presidential candidate. The VP is also a toss-up, but since the other 2 parties have nominated anti-establishment Veeps that go with Trump and Bernie on 90% of the issues, let's assume Gary Johnson picks a former Congressman, U.S. Senator or Governor.

Would the beltway help the Libertarians to stop Bern and Donald? What would a map look like? Electoral vote and popular vote? Smiley

You do have a point but in this scenario I'm thinking that establishment Republicans and Democrats, considering the 2 major party options, along with the billionaires, would see Gary Johnson as the only one who could better represent their interests. Let's assume that they heavily fund Gary's campaign but do it in stealth mode, you don't think that Gary at least might reach Perot '92 numbers thanks to help from the duopoly and their donors?
