Well first of all the Syrians were probably trying to build nukes to balance out Israel's threats, as is normal in geopolitics, second of all I actually kinda agree with you, North Korea is a much worse and bigger threat to America than Iran or Venezuela.

North Korea has a crazy dictator that has already developed a fairly advanced form of nuclear weapons. Venezuela is a democracy, led by an egotistical person similar to Bush, except a Socialist. They may control oil but would not be opposed to us that much if a Democrat was president. Iran isn't even developing nuclear weapons, as found by our CIA, they are in an economic depression and their populace is significantly pro-USA and Democracy and if Ahmadinejad for some reason decided to attack Iraq, he would probably be toppled.
