Weird...it seems to ahev swung against the tide in both 1980 and 1988.
Well, it didn't really swing against the tide in 1988, it's a Democratic county overall, but not overwhelmingly so, thus it would make sense that Dukakis would win it, and also Carter in 1980. The reason that it voted for Ford in 1976 is probably because Michigan was Ford's home state.
It does seem to be a Democratic county, from 1960-2000 only voting for Nixon and Reagan's landslide victory and Ford's homestate candidacy. Any other counties in Mich. that went for Ford in '76 and Carter in '80?
