^ Since when can Dems vote in a Republican primary?

Depends on the state -- many have open primaries which involve selecting which party ballot you want at the time of voting. I could see some Democrats who thought Clinton was safe crossing over to give her an ideal candidate. (It's not something I'd ever do, but it's not unheard of.)

So if everything shakes out as I anticipate tonight...Sanders and Biden will each have a 13.8% chance of a majority, according to 538's simulator.

Well, looks like President Biden it is. Not sure even California and Texas could erase some of these margins.

Sanders is within 5 in North Carolina. If he ties there and Texas, he still wins the nomination.

He's not going to tie in North Carolina. That would take a miracle.

Biden only +8 in NC at the moment. We're also getting Tennessee results, Biden +3 but ridiculously low % in there.

Say it with me: counting biases

Biden is likely going to win Minnesota and Maine in addition to Texas. Folks, this primary is over.

You're three hours late with that take

I mean, I also said it three hours ago after we got the VA margin, but I'm almost certain now.

Great night for Biden. But that is some blatant reverse psychology on your end.

I’d be surprised even with the great night if he won even 1 of those

The New York Times seems to think he's got a chance in both.

Texas being this close, given how strongly Biden is overperforming in other states, is quite surprising.

Seriously, what “sh**t” did the party pull to make Sanders lose most of the states this evening? He obviously doesn’t have the appeal he needed to, not just in the South but in the Midwest and New England. Hell, he’s barely getting a majority of the vote *in Vermont.* I was a Sanders supporter in 2016, and will probably vote for him in the LA primary, but he’s not getting screwed out of the nomination. Biden is (bafflingly) popular with a broad coalition, and he won tonight fair and square.
