Frisa was a real bad fit for this CD - way, way too conservative and rode in on the 1994 wave after defeating the Republican moderate incumbent. Besides, McCarthy was a strong candidate in a good year.
It also sorta helped that Frisa was a gigantic prick who just gave up on his campaign, failing to even show up at his own election night wake. Good riddance, even though his replacement is nearly as insufferable.
Drunk driving is hardly a good reason to kick someone out of office.

almost agree with this. So far as I am concerned, a drunk driving conviction is a huge negative, but I wouldn't base a vote solely on that. If I was undecided about a candidate, it would totally tip me in the opposite direction, but if we're talking about a longterm incumbent that I'm comfortable with and like... I don't know.
