Pretty major development in the Mass gubernatorial race -- Tim Cahill's LG pick, State Rep. Paul Loscocco (R-Holliston), dropped off the ticket today and endorsed Republican Charlie Baker.

LOL! That is fabulous!

Even if it hurts Patrick, you have to admire the pathos of this event.

Loscocco is a consummate political whore. Like a rat on a sinking ship (who wants to apply for a position in a Baker administration, no doubt) ...

There's not a chance in hell that Cahill wins, so what the ballots say really isn't an issue. This is really the best possible scenario for Baker -- Cahill may hold his support among Dems through this, but take a hit with Republicans. If Cahill drops out, that may be a "win" for Patrick, so to speak.

I really don't see this having a major impact on the polling or anything.

Yeah, this is a pretty minor factor, but the race is close enough that minor factors matter.

Welcome to the forum!  Good to see another yellow MA avatar.

Hey, thanks Smiley

I've been lurking this place for sometime because the election atlas' info is so useful, and I'm a bit of a Harry Turtledove nerd so I have a thing for the Alt. History, especially elections, and the board here about them is pretty great. I've just been recently trying to get more involved with all of your discussions,

Also just to clear it up, I'm not voting for the guy or anything personally, I just think he's an irl troll and I love it, haha

Welcome indeed. Curious -- now that Kamal Jain lost his primary, are you supporing Mary Z. for auditor or Suzanne Bump? Or don't you care either way?

Might as well reuse a thread than start a new one:

Reilly served as AG until 2006, when he lost a Democratic primary for governor to ... you guessed it ...
