Commeration of KoTBP Act

Section 1: Monument
a.) A monument shall be built at a location to be determined by a vote of the people of Nyman to honor the former governor of the Dirty South, Kingofthebenchpress.
b.) The cost of the project shall not exceed twenty millions ($20,000,000) dollars.

Section 2: Inscription
a.) The monument must contain the governor's famous phrase:

I love to have sex with hot women

fLast night i got myself a southern bell

It seems that the quote code is part of the proposed bill?

Amendment to replace the entire text with...

Dollar Bill Bill

Section 1 of F.L. 6-16, the Atlasian Currency Act is amended, in part, to read:

"(...)Bills

  • $1.00 Dollar Bill Jefferson (front) and a freezer (back)
  • (...)"

Offered as friendly.

I give Jas until early next year (as soon as my hangover wears off) to withdraw his motion to table. If he doesn't, then I will rephrase my amendment to make that an addition. If he does, I won't (so either way, my Dollar Bill Bill goes to a vote of the Senate - either as an up-or-down vote against the original text; or combined with the original text into the Tabling vote.)

On a side note, I ask that the [sic] be withdrawn as the spelling is in KoTBP's honor
Donsky.So noted.

So my amendment, not accepted as friendly, will go to a vote sometime tomorrow.
And after that, Jas' amendment will.

Vote Count

Aye: 3 (Lewis, AndrewCT, HappyWarrior)
Nay: 4 (DWTL, PiT, Torie, SPC)
Abstain (Yet to vote): 3 (Al, Lief, Bacon King)
SPC replaces Jas and Lief replaces Sensei? Is that correct?

Just checked the "welcome" thread. Apparently the vote stands at 4-4.

Wouldn't that depend on whether it was accepted before or after the amendment passes? Although I suppose the relevant point is the end of that 24 hour objections time window, so it would be after.

But as SPC's amendment was apparently written without any grasp of what the OSPR is or what it currently says or how you amend it, clearly it would be objected to despite its obvious good intentions.

You want a rules change like that, you name it an Amendment to the OSPR - and thus a Senate Resolution, not a Bill - and you actually read through the OSPR to see which passages need to be amended.
And you'd be well advised not to reduce the number of bills that can be before the Senate at any one time, sticking to the second half of your first draft attempt.
And then you hope that the next PPT uses his powers of using the "PPT's Discretion" slot for this so it actually gets to the floor before all your other bills.

I don't intend to officially open debate on SPC's amendment until after your amendment has been voted upon, and since DWTL can only accept as a friendly once debate has started on it...
Well if that's the rule (I suppose you're right.) then there was also Jas' amendment in the cue in between. Though I guess that's considered withdrawn as he's left the Senate.

You might just want to learn to read more closely.

https://uselectionatlas.org/AFEWIKI/index.php/Current_Senate_Rules%2C_Regulations%2C_and_Procedures

Of course there's also an entry with the original OSPR. As these have been amended billions of times and so that people don't have to look in billions of places, the above page is linked to from the top of the Senate Resolutions list. A similar arrangement exists for voting law.
