No one except me and Straha saw Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon? I am surprised... okay, actually I'm guessing you didn't notice it since it's listed under the Chinese title. Smiley

Probably.  I've seen most modern/popular Chinese films, but I didn't have time to click on each link to see what their English titles were.  Tongue
Hero is listed as well. Smiley

Not only is Billy Madison not on the list, but with a rating of 6.1, it's quite far from making it.

So in a nutshell...IMDB users are stupid.
Better than mainstream critics, let alone average crowds. That not every movie you love is liked by large numbers is not the numbers' fault. (But they are indeed still far to mainstream. I mean, The Two Towers in the Top 50? Huh Wtf?) Movies I'm missing include Kids, Fallen Angels, The Edukators, Atame (especially since Hable con Ella is listed), The Professional, Buffalo 66, or anything by Jim Jarmusch... I was delighted and surprised to find La Haine listed, though.

Billy Madison is well loved though. Typically considered the best Adam Sandler movie by my generation (The younger crowds might've skewed something else like Happy Gilmore above it on IMDB)
Just checked what kind of movie we're talking about ... as far as I can see, there is no live action comedy movie made after the death of Marylin Monroe on this list. Which proves my point. Tongue

I've seen the following of their bottom 100 movies:

   1. Beast of Yucca Flats, The (1961) (my vote 1/10)
I've seen parts of one - Hercules in New York.

There's quite a few. Knocked Up (though that's a fluke as I pointed out), Hot Fuzz (despite being another fluke type), both Monty Python movies, Groundhog Day, Shaun of the Dead, Ed Wood, A Christmas Story, and if you stretch the definition of "comedy" a bit you can include Fargo, Little Miss Sunshine and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I'll grant you Groundhog Day. Can't comment of A Christmas Story. Shaun of the Dead and Ed Wood are not comedy in the cinematic sense. And Monthy Python, obviously, is a special case of its own. Smiley

I'm appalled by the taste of some on this board.
Yeah, none of you have seen La Haine. Oh well, I've seen it at least six times... -_-

All right, ratings. The more pluses, the better. the more minuses, the worse. No rating, a movie I have no strong feelings about one way or the other, five being the maximum (movies with five pluses are the same ones that have a red x in the earlier version). MODIFIED BECAUSE A RATING FROM +3 to -3 is enough.
1 The Godfather

5 Pulp Fiction ++
6 Schindler's List -
8 Empire Strikes Back
9 LOTR III -

45 Chinatown
49 Treasure of the Sierra Madre
50 Clockwork Orange
54 Monthy Python and the Holy Grail
59 Shining +
63 Reservoir Dogs +
