Also, there's no legislation for "absentee" voting. Let's face it, it's advance, not absentee.
It would make it easier for people to vote of course, but then we already have a 48hour period to vote - we have to draw the line somewhere ("sometime"?)
Off topic: I have just voted absentee, or rather advance, for the first time in my life in the Euro Elections. I was at a family reunion in NRW and didn't know in advance if I'd be back in time. Wouldn't have been a problem as it turned out. That family reunion also meant that for the second time since I came of age, I didn't sit on a polling station... Sad It was worth it though...
