Let's say Franklin Roosevelt or another Protestant won the Democratic nomination in 1928.  Even though it's unlikely that any Democrat could have won, considering the economy, how much would the electoral votes have shifted?  Would the Democrat have carried the entire South and lost Massachusetts and Rhode Island?
