This is not a natural extension of the George Floyd protests. It's the movement that's been building for a while in the anarchocommunist left. They repeatedly told us their plans if getting elected failed, and they're delivering. The response is going to be brutal, but letting them continue like this will result in something far worse.

This is why the far left will never gain a seat in the halls of power. They are distracting, they are looting and they give the protesters a bad name.
I'm not saying the two individual situations are identical or even similar, but I can see where you are coming from in the way that one could credibly claim Charlottesville was an example why the alt-right will never gain a seat in the halls of power.

Here's a CNN brief/alert about that. I hope they find whoever did it...

An officer contracted by the Federal Protective Service of the Department of Homeland Security was shot and killed Friday night in Oakland, California, the FBI said in a statement.

When could we expect the other officers to be arrested?
I doubt the other officers are convicted of anything serious, if at all. It wasn't a group thing like Freddie Gray where a bunch of cops worked together to 'rough' him up, which ended up contributing to Gray's death. What could the other three officer be charged with? Failure to assist?

He is in criitical condition.

I decided to check this threat because a stream I am watching mentioned this incident and the streamer said he didn't want to share the video because he heard the man had died. I was hoping maybe it was just an internet rumor....evidently not. This, assuming the guy was simply trying to protect businesses, makes me almost as mad as watching what happened to George Floyd. The only reason why it's not the same is because police officers are held to a higher standard than your average dude on the street.

Interstate was formally shutdown. The man driving this tanker tried to commit mass murder.

I was curious about this, and local news is reporting and the state Dept. of Public Safety is claiming the driver "saw the crowd and panicked". Which seems...bad for someone who drives for a living to do. Why hasn't he run over hundreds of people at crosswalks before?

Oh honey...

Meanwhile in a future tweet: "a portion of the US public doesn't think the Armenian Genocide happened" so the Armenian Genocide must have never happened and it's just a despicable lie spread by the PPK/YPG to make the great Republic of Turkey look bad.

Snap to stop promoting Trump's account because of threats against protesters

The multimedia messaging app Snapchat said it will stop promoting President Donald Trump's account to other users because of the threats he has made on other social media platforms about unleashing violence against protesters.

The decision, which the company made over the weekend and announced Wednesday, may be one of the strongest stances yet from a social media company as the industry grapples with how to handle incendiary remarks from the country's most powerful leader.

Neither a riot nor violent (yet) but I've been stuck outside my apartment building for almost an hour trying to deescalate a shouting match between 2 of my neighbors over this crap.
I see law school is finally paying off for ya.

This timeline continues to deliver.
"Mitt Romney marches with BLM protestors" literally sounds like a 2015-16 Onion headline.

So... sounds like Stephen Miller is the one writing Trump's address. Should be good. Any prop bets?
If a speech about nationwide protests against police brutality somehow tries to tie, or even mentions, immigration, I'll drink a glass of my parents' wine.

For the record, Tim Carpenter is a Democrat.
I enjoy how they were telling him as they were beating him up to delete the video, did not succeed, and their faces ended up being captured on that same video. It didn't even look like the protesters were doing anything sketchy they'd want to hide from being recorded. But seriously, if you go to a public protest people can take pictures of you. I'm not sure on what planet people think you can beat up an old man taking video of a protest because.....you don't like that for some reason? I hope they catch those people.
