Harris just seems like such a cold oatmeal kind of choice. I'd almost rather Cory Booker. Out of the two on the "short list", I'd prefer Val Demmings. She hits on so many levels: great underdog/coming up from poverty story, successful law enforcement experience, unifies/balances the ticket being member of a very important minority group for any Democratic Presidential ticket, plus she's from a large perennial swing state.

I'll just put it out there, but out of those on the shortlist, my favorite is Duckworth.

Harris and Duckworth are definitely the best two Biden can choose, and I’d be very happy with either.
I was just about to type this, so I'll repost it instead. Smiley

IN OTHER NEWS...

I’m watching the Biden/Warren fundraiser, and I really wouldn’t be surprised if she turns out to be the pick when it eventually gets announced. They get along really well — a lot better than I was expecting.

If not for the Floyd killing, it would have been Warren.

That withstanding, the optics of an old white ticket are horrible.

Alternatively, you could argue that having a young, minority name on the ticket just serves to highlight how old and white Biden is.

You could also argue that any Democratic ticket with two white people loses.

21st Century Presidential elections:

Dem Tickets with two white people: all losses

Dem Tickets without two white people: all wins

Seems pretty conclusive to me! Tongue

I'll throw my thoughts out here: I am still of the mindset that Kamala has always been at the top of the list for Joe. Obama chose a former primary rival (Biden) and they became a great team not only in context of winning the election, but working together once in office as well. That has to be influencing Biden's decision making. My position is still that if it isn't Kamala, I'll be surprised.
