We're seeing way more GOPers at this point than Dems, which is interesting.

It may be true that Republicans, Republican Congress people here, genuinely have 'family values.' Apparently, Republican House staffers were saying in December to expect a wave or Republican retirement announcements after members spoke with their families over the Holidays.

It’s more likely that they’re sick of being in a dysfunctional party. Most of the ones retiring have been there for a decade or more and remember when the GOP were semi functional.
