The former Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska...

The current, first term governor of a state with 600-thousand residents...

The former Miss Alaska....

Versus...

A former editor of the Harvard Law Review...

A former, multi-term state senator in a populous state...

A former community organizer in America's third largest city...

A first term Senator with experience on the Foreign Relations and Armed Services committee...

Obama wins the experience battle, hands down.

The population of Alaska is about the same as the population (a little less, actually) of Austin, TX, my home town. The current mayor has been mayor since 2003, over twice as long as Mrs. Palin. Is he qualified to be President?

Guys, I have some relieving news: according to Palin's speech just now, she used to be both a hockey mom and a part-time basketball coach. Don't worry; we're in good, experienced hands.

Another anecdotal: my mother loves Hilary (and Bill) Clinton, and absolutely hated Obama in the primaries, though she's come around to an extent. She's still hostile to Obama though, and has said that, while she supports the Democrat, she wouldn't mind a McCain victory. But she is completely opposed to the Palin pick. She's especially angry that Palin talked about the glass ceiling and Clinton's work to break it in her speech yesterday, as my mom believes that Clinton is entitled to be the first woman to become president, and thinks that Palin coming along from nowhere with no accomplishments to steal Clinton's spotlight is disgusting.

I'm glad your mother feels confident is telling people who is "entitled" to be the first woman President.
Hey, I don't agree with her. I'd just bet that most Clinton supporters agree with her.

Many of you have gotten it all wrong. See, what matters isn't really experience, but JUDGEMENT. To name just one key difference between Biden and Palin - Biden voted in favour of the Iraq war, Palin didn't. What else do you need to know, really?
As of 2007, Palin didn't even have an opinion on the Iraq War. What a maverick.
