Also, this entire movement showed its true face when it organized mass rallies immediately after 10/7 celebrating the slaughter, before Israel had struck back. No matter what they say their demands are, they showed their cards on day one and they will never be allowed to cover that up.

Support for Palestine is still low. But Israel, after having suffered the second worst killing of Jews since the Holocaust (the worst was in Argentina during the dirty war, where tens of thousands of socialists, 12% of them Jews, were killed with weapons bought from the IDF) has lost an incredible amount of goodwill and the polls reflect that too. Pre 10/7 the average American was probably a soft Israel supporter, now the average American says screw em both.

A hilarious clip, in which one of the leaders demands that Columbia bring them food and water (while they illegally occupy campus buildings) for “humanitarian” reasons. At the root of it all is sort of a narcissistic jealousy that the Palestinians get to experience the excitement of hardship and oppression while they have to live their peaceful, wealthy, boring lives here in America.

Palestinians are not bad but the Palestinian cause obviously is, at least as it currently exists. Is it possible that a Palestinian cause will exist one day that supports peace, rejects antisemitism, condemns terrorism, and recognizes that the only path forward is co-existence with an Israeli state? Yes but the Palestinian cause today has nothing to do with any of that.

I can't stress enough just how much >90% of employed people despise protests like this. The left has completely failed to appeal to working people and there seems to be no interest in fixing that.

These people aren't the left. These are extremist loons who have more in common with Alex Jones and David Duke than with any mainstream Democrat.

"Mainstream Democrats" are center-right to centrist. They are not on the left sphere, at least the way most of them feel about capitalism, where they continue to support the status quo in maintaining the system.

If that is your definition of the left then they are such a tiny irrelevant share of the voting population that they are not really worth discussing.

By assuming that everyone who wears a keffiyah is a terrorist, you're directly spreading anti-Muslim hatred.

What a ridiculous thing to say. 99.999% of Muslims don’t dress like this (it’s not even a Muslim garment, it’s an Arab one, no one wears keffiyehs in Iran or Indonesia or wherever). This is a costume. Some do it out of a bizarre orientalist desire to show solidarity with Palestinians (like if people showed up to protests against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine wearing vyshyvankas they bought on Amazon). I would guess that most do it because they want to “globalize the intifada,” and dress like this to terrorize and intimidate.
