I had no idea the Squid and the Whale was set in the 1980s until I looked it up on Wikipedia after watching it, though it makes sense in retrospect. Good film though.

The King's Speech.

Did not approve of some of the language
, but overall a very good movie, intriguing story line, brilliantly acted.

Historically factual.

Never change, Winfield.

Oh, I also finally saw The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and I think it's my favorite live action Wes Anderson movie now.

This is England

Fookin' 'ell, England in the 80s was depressing. Skinheads are probably one of my favorite subcultures fashion-wise though, too bad neo-Nazis had to go and ruin them.

Dog Day Afternoon

Sometimes I forget that Pacino used to be one of the greatest actors ever, instead of just playing variations on himself in every movie. Everything else about the movie was also pretty fantastic though.

The Graduate

I saw this first when I was in 8th grade, and that was it was alright then. But it's pretty much the perfect movie now that I'm Dustin Hoffman's character's age. Also the cinematography and soundtrack are all kinds of excellent. I also love the ending and how realistically depressing that final shot of the two of them on bus slowly losing the smiles on their faces is. Great stuff.

The new muppet movie is pretty good. A little rough around the edges, but really fun and enjoyable.

Harry Potter 7.2, much better than 7.1 but still pretty boring until the big wizard fight at the end. The scene at the end was dumb, Harry was the only one that actually looked even vaguely like a 30-something. Of course making Emma Watson look old would be a crime against aesthetic beauty so I won't complain.

Me too! It started off kind of slow but got more hilarious as it went along. I'm glad I'm not alone.

I wonder if Lief has watched it yet?

Doesn't it come out in March?

I'll probably wait to watch it on the big screen, especially because I'm running dry on the green stuff at the moment.

My lady friend and I saw The Artist. It was pretty good but I'm not sure why everyone loved it so much? It was obviously well-made and well-acted and all that, but the story was sort of mediocre and it was kind of boring at times.

Watched American Psycho and Dirty Harry for the first time last night. Thought they were both very good. Clint Eastwood has the best faces.

Didn't really get the end of American Psycho though. Had he just been imagining everything?
