Eh, that probably explains her Dem numbers, but I think her strength with independents is more a reflection of her support among independent (but very, very conservative), sort of nutty paleo-conservative, rednecky. Kind of a less-educated version of the non-"internet-libertarian"-wing of the Paultards.

I would hope that demographic isn't 10% of the voting public.

I really can't think of anyone else who would be a devoted Palin fan. Is there a single Republican on this forum who supports Palin? Her die-hard supporters are pretty outside the mainstream.
