I don't understand why Democrats don't have at least a second-tier candidate here in case Hayworth wins the primary.

Keep in mind, McCain has been running nasty attack ads accusing Hayworth of being a porker and voting for large spending bills. Do to regulations however Hayworth couldn't respond to these attack adds on his show and he couldn't run response ads unless he was running and he couldn't run until he could step down. McCain is once again playing dirty pool. However of course, as a Romney supporter in 2008 this is to be expected from Juan McVain.

Its interesting to see that a number of posters such as you are closely following and understand the dynamics of the race.

Look Carl, we all think it would be hilarious if John McCain, the long-term Senator and 2008 Republican presidential nominee, lost in a primary to a nutjob, and I'm sure we'll all rooting for Hayworth, if only for the lulz his victory will provide. But it just ain't happening.
