He's certainly not a saint and I'm definitely not one to defend him, but Chirac was the real crook. While he probably was involved too, Chirac is the real criminal.

He's a rural-based MP who seems to be doing a good job. Although being in the New Centre, he's one of the most independent members of the NC, meaning that he doesn't have a voting record 100% in line with the government.

Eh, you seem pretty staunchly secular, so I'm not sure you'd like Pinte.

On a side note, which I just noticed, Jacques Bompard is not a member of the FN. He joined the MPF in 2005.
