I ran for student council in Grade 5 and lost, probably placing third (there were, iirc, 2 seats per class). Unlike others promising to build a swimming pool, I only promised to have a longer lunch time and lower cafeteria prices
I almost ran for city council this year as a token opposition dude, and my friend backed me, but I didn't run in the end. I would probably have run as a vaguely progressive candidate, and if there had been a all-candidates debate I would probably have a) stuttered and look like a retard and b) make random references to Getulio Vargas and Fernando Collor which nobody in Innes Ward would've understood.
