Ginsburg really was selfish for not resigning when the Dems had the Senate imo.

Victim blaming at its finest. Neither of them could have anticipated that one of the most qualified candidates ever to run for office would lose to Donald Trump.

In the event of a Kennedy retirement, there is only one priority: Keeping alive 45 years of stare decisis with Roe v. Wade.

But it was entirely forseeable even back then that a conventional republican could have won and appointed a pro life justice anyway so why take the risk? If Ginsburg really values abortion more than the power her job provides her with she would have retired back when an ideologically similar sucessor was in the realm of possibility.

That may be right Cashew, but it's still no cause to use a thread about Kennedy's possible retirement as an excuse to further browbeat her. If anything, his retirement strengthens the argument her decision will have no impact on whether there's a right-wing takeover of the Court.
