Bernie would have made mincemeat of Trump. He had almost everything going for him that Trump did (the protectionism, anti-establishment, anti-special interest, big rallies, appeal to the Midwest, white working class, halo of being an honest guy who 'tells it like it is'), and none of Trump's (or Hillary's) negatives. He did not have Trump's ability to generate media coverage, or Trump's 'law and order' message, but to compensate, he had much higher support among the youth, and minorities + the media/establishment would have sided with him in the end.
