Heh, during the Gore campaign, I was like 10 or 11, and I remember being fanatically devoted, and so disappointed when he lost, even though I didn't really understand it or know why I was so devoted, at the time.
Now, however, I can consider the facts a little more clearly. *g*
I was the same...except I was about 13-14. I guess kids who will eventually get interested in politcs liked him better.
I remember staying up all night on election night. I thought we had it when the announced Florida for Gore, and when they took it back my heart sank.
"Governor Bush, what is your reaction now to the results so far in this election?"
(Bush leans back in his chair lazily, as he was on election night 2004): "Well, it looks like the networks have called this thing already. I've switched to watching CNN now."
(Why is he watching CNN? He never explains. I go downstairs to the satellite hookup and turn on CNN. It shows Florida grey.)
That was the beginning of the long collapse for Gore.
