I still think he should have made an independent run after he lost the nomination. Yes I know, it would guarantee a trump 400 plus landslide. But he could have won some states like Vermont. Besides, with a independent run of his caliber he would force the establishment democrats to take the progressive wing more serious and therefore he could name a progressive successor in 2020 to defeat the then inevitable president trump

I think if anything it would've done irreparable damage to the party and caused a permanent split.

If anything, more Dems should've challenged Hillary so we would've known before it was too late how weak of a candidate she was.
