I know a little hole-in-the-wall in Courthouse/Rosslyn that has the best molé outside of Juarez.

lol.  Imagine thinking that chicken and chocolate don't mix.

lol.  Picky eaters.
Guajillo?!
Correctamundo!

There's always at least ONE person I'm with that even REFUSES to try it.

Bitches be acting like it's dog testicles or something.  lulz

Do you know if Guajillo Chalateco is related? Or am I going to have to get out my canoe and make a journey across the river?

Not sure.  I think the term "Guajillo" is a fairly common name amongst Mexican eateries.

Kinda like "La Cantina".

Around your 'hood, I like that one in Petworth that used to play some kick-ass 'ritmos raros' on Friday nights.  I hope the virus didn't shut them down.  The name escapes me at the moment.

Is/was that at Songbyrd? (in Adams Morgan, not Petworth, but that's what the google seems to be indicating)

The DJs from Songbyrd do their thing in various locales all across DC (pre-Rona), so it is not just in Adams Morgan.

Songbyrd = awesome venue, BTW.   Lots of Peace Corps peeps hang out there (for obvious reasons).

Edit: I remember now.  Haydee's.   Despite the name, it's a Mexican place.

The last time I was at Songbyrd (pre-pandemic), I was randomly having a drink with with a friend, and then a band started playing, so we bought beers for the band. There were maybe 5 people in the audience, so after their set, the band stayed and chatted with us for a while. Such a friendly place.

Ah Haydee's! I've been going there since 2010. Spent a Halloween and New Year's Eve or two there.

Since we're now apparently talking about DC Mexican restaurants, I cannot recommend Taqueria Xochi enough.

I think that is exactly what we're doing here. Xochi is so good! I've only had their cemitas but have been meaning to get a taco one of these days.
