Czech legislative election, Nobody knows when.

Czech Social Democratic Party (CSSD) 34.8%
 
Civic Democratic Party (ODS) 31.4%
 
Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia (KSCM) 11.9%
 
Christian and Democratic Union - Czech People’s Party (KDU-CSL) 7.8%
 
TOP 09 6.5%
 
Green Party (SZ) 2.4%

The surprise is the new TOP 09 Party. It was created by dissidents of the KDU-CSL and other center-right  politicians. The Greens have after their split no chance to return into the parlament. When this is the result, then gives no majority without the CSSD, but it will be a close thing.

Another poll says that the Czech people don't trust their politicians, but this is in the most countries the same

Including former European Affairs Minister Karel Schwarzenberg. Schwarzenberg is in fact the party's top candidate, but he wasn't a KDU-CSL member.

It will be interesting to see which coalition emerges, but on these figures I'd place my money on a centre-right coalition. The Communists will not (and could not) work with anybody, they still live in 1952.

That's true. The communists in the Czech Republic are living in the past. It's maybe the last Stalinist Party in Europe. I don't hope that the ODS wins again. They are to populist to antieuropean and to corrupt. When it a result like the poll, then i wish me a CSSD-KDU-CSL-TOP09 coalition.

Some changes since the last Poll. CSSD and ODS lose a little bit the Communists gain a little bit and the KDU-CSL have maybe problems to come into parlament. The rise of the new center right party TOP09 continues. Nobody wants to make a coalition with the KSCM. When the poll is the result then gives only the option of a grand coalition. I don't think that would work. CSSD and ODS hate each other.

This is no difference to the last poll. In this poll are 20% undecided voters. I'm sure that the ČSSD will be the strongest party and the ODS can get no majority with TOP 09 and the KDU-ČSL

Czech elections are postponed to probably somewhere in November after the Constitutional Court called off the elections last week. This because an independent (former ČSSD) MP complained that early elections would prevent him from completing his term, which started in 2006. The Czech parliament has already amended the Constitution to make early elections constitutionally possible now.

The Czech politics is sometimes very curious. After the decision of the Constitutional Court it is November the 6th and 7th the most possible date

Does anyone have a clue of a possible change in ODS after Klaus has retired ?
I mean a change towards more mainstream European right ?

The current ODS leaders are not so extreme antieuropean, but the party is split. This wing is going to the Constitutional Court against the Lisbon Treaty. I think it need more than 5 years that the ODS get a mainstream Right party.
