I know I'm probably gonna get a lot of sh*t for saying this from some of the usual suspects - that is, I'm sure jfern will think I'm a war criminal - but I think he's a nice, simple, easy-going, likable, & frankly good guy, albeit one who naively thought that most other people are also good people, a misconception which allowed him to be easily manipulated & taken advantage of by less-honorable people & advisors, to the catastrophic detriment of both America & the world. Nevertheless, I honestly believe that he's just a genuinely good person who loves (& wanted the best for) his country, meant to do well, & tried to do the right thing but was most famously thrown into what turned out to be a terrible situation in hindsight that he'll be most infamously remembered as having been ineffectually unprepared for.

This ain't it Chief.

his presidency caused more long-term damage than any president since Reagan.

Ronald Reagan was the best president of the modern political era.

I couldn't find the right reaction to show how absurd this is, so I'll just type this.

Took the bait my guy. What I said was still true (I challenge you to name a better one), but what I said was still bait.

Most everyone is better than Reagan just by virtue of not being Reagan! Clinton, Obama, Bush I, both superior (not that they're amazing, or even good in Bush I's case). Bush and Trump somehow became worse, which is really remarkable.

I like presidents that don't get dementia. Or f#ck over the poor and middle class with not only policy but an ethos that people on welfare are lazy bums. Or escalate the War on Drugs. Or sell weapons to Iran.

The last two are valid criticisms, but out of curiosity- who do you think was best president of the modern era? I guarantee Reagan ousts them.

I believe the least bad president of the modern era was Obama. And he's no saint either. And I don't want a bunch of sh!t named after him.

I like presidents who don’t add 10 trillion dollars to the national debt. So Obama sure as hell wasn’t the best in my view. Anyways, Reagan is the main reason why we live in the USA and not the ASSR.

Imagine citing the debt to argue that Reagan was a good president
What's more silly, thinking he was a good President or saying the debt is the reason why?
