I am eager to see how California votes in a biden midterm. Will dems win back any of these seats they have lost so far this cycle?

I doubt they will in 2022, but they may in 2024.

They’ll win back some in 2022 because of redistricting

As a New Yorker I welcome international intervention and military operations to disarm New York, to free its people and to defend the world from grave danger.

With a margin that close, there's a legitimate argument to hold a special

Per Dave Wasserman, the Hart campaign claims that updated recount totals will show Rita Hart ahead by 3 votes.

This is just so close.

"Obviously it's because they 'found' votes for the Democrat, another election stolen thanks to liberal voter fraud!"

Am I doing this right?

Not enough anti semitic innuendo and theories involving China/Venezuela.

Who cares? This isn’t going to be decided for months, at which point it doesn’t matter.

This. This race will not be solved for a very long time. Expect endless court battles.

Absolutely amazing. This is just great. I have had to pick an incumbent to survive, Brindisi may not have been my first choice, but he'd be in the top 3.

NY-22 is going to take a very long time. The recount, legal challenges, and chaos will take time. A Brindisi +10 lead or a Tenney +10 lead are both meaningless until the dust settles.

Obviously the GOP gains in the House and resilience in the Senate are the big takeaways from the Congressional elections this cycle, but for me the biggest story is how close so many of these elections wound up being. The narrative would probably be significantly different if Democrats did just the slightest bit better, uniformly.

Yeah. If Dem's just did even a little less than 1% better in the house, the GOP would only be netting like 5-6 seats.

There will be a recount, this is going to take forever. Nothing between now and the recount matters.

It's not desperation. 1984.....

In any case Hart should probably concede.

Hart is disgusting..... she knows she would lose in front of courts so now she will simply ask Pelosi to declare her the winner, that would be a horrible precedent. Why even bother holding elections ?

Not defending Hart here but....in a race where the result is within a few votes. Literally like 5, 6, 4 votes, it's really hard to conclusively know who won.

But Hart should, barring a new revelation, concede.

If she wants to contest the result through the Iowa courts, fine go ahead..

But attempting to appeal your election loss to the house of representatives is pure desperation.. whether it has previous precedent of not.

There has already been a recount, and Miller Meeks was found to be still ahead. That should really be the end of it. I would say the same if Rita Hart was ahead by 6 votes..

When I say it's not desperation, I only mean because the word desperation implies she has no realistic chance. I'm saying she does have a chance.

But I agree with you that she should concede.

A 6 vote margin is essentially a statistical tie, with no way of knowing who actually got more valid votes, and a special election would be fairest, although I understand this is not the done thing, and, barring compelling evidence there are uncounted votes, Miller-Meeks should probably be seated.

This is also my position
