Not particularly, because capitalism appropriated Che's irritating image long ago.

Exactly.  In fact, I was going to say it's almost the opposite of hypocritical.  Particularly if your friend wishes to create an altar to money grubbing.  But then, my guess is, he has posted Che simply because he is under the delusion that it makes him cool.
