So who do we have? Presumably the 10 impeachers (Kinzinger, Cheney, Katko, Valadao, Meijer, Rice, Newhouse, JHB, Gonzalez and Upton). Who else joined?

Here it is:

Bentz, Bice, Gimenez, Guest, Jacobs, and of course Rice all voted against certification.

By "Guest," she means Michael Guest of MS-3? He's been a super loyalist to Trump...

Presumably. That was definitely one of the more surprising names to me.

It seems like the Republicans defying McCarthy are disproportionately in swing seats so they're using this vote to look bipartisan. I heard that election objectors in swing seats in particular wanted to use this to get political cover, so how many Yes voters also objected to the election result?

Bentz, Bice, Gimenez, Guest, Jacobs. Tom Rice objected but he also voted to impeach and in favor of the commission.

Bentz, Guest and Jacobs are all from Safe R districts, Bice's district is Lean R and trending left, and Gimenez's went from Clinton +16 to Trump +6.

A few months ago, I compared Kevin McCarthy to Michael Scott because I figured both of them are in over their heads and go to crazy lengths in order to please people.

Not only have recent events further proved this, but I also realized Trump is the Packer to McCarthy's Michael.

If Republicans take back the House in 2022, which seems more likely than not, I think whether or not he becomes Speaker is an open question.

Can’t the House still do their own commission?

I thought that’s what happened with Benghazi.

Yes. And I think there's a good chance they will. Though I kind of wonder which Republicans will end up being on it, besides Cheney and Kinzinger.

Democrats overplayed their hand with Jan 6 and its pretty funny to watch the stages of grief/denial they’re now in.  The events of January 6 were pretty disturbing but opportunistic Democrats saw a once in a lifetime opportunity to make this their “9/11” and its now failing horribly.  Just stop lying - there was no coup, no insurrection - there were a bunch of morons with no plan who ran into an area they weren’t supposed to be in.  The crocodile tears have really worn thin nearly 6 months later.

You know who I really feel for?  No, its not Nancy Pelosi, because some dude sat in her chair and stole her laptop.  I feel bad for the unarmed woman who was shot dead by Capitol Police with no accountability.
The one attempting to lead a lynch mob over the last barricade between them and a bunch of congressmen?

Screw her

Thats a good fanfic of the events, lmao.

They were literally chanting "Hang Mike Pence". Quite a few of them brought guns, knives and baseball bats. What do you think they would have done to Pence if they'd actually gotten their hands on him? Or Pelosi? Schumer? Romney? Kinzinger? AOC? Warren? Sanders? Schiff?
