Safe R,

Why do Democrats try to defeat McConnell every election cycle, Republicans will not hurl all their resources at Chuck Schumer in 2022. Are Democrats trying to defeat him, because he is the leader. Either way Safe R, though the pundits will call it Likely R on Election Day due to KY's Dem biases polling. KY polling is ridiculously pro-Democrat this far out (this far out Hillary Clinton was beating Trump in a PPP Kentucky poll).

This time around, I think Democrats are pissed about both Supreme Court seats and how the shutdown was handled. They see him as an obstructionist who wants nothing more than to bend to what Trump wants. Plus, in the EXTREMELY unlikely event that Cocaine Mitch loses in 2020, it is almost certain that Trump has also lost, so it would just be the icing on the cake. Another thing to consider is that the Democratic Senate Minority Leader, Tom Daschle, lost reelection in 2004, and he was the first incumbent Senate party leader to lose since the 50s. I'm sure Daschle's loss still stings for Reid and Schumer, so maybe they've gone after McConnell hard as a sort of revenge mission.
