Literally all DeSantis has to do is stand in Trump's shadow now. It's a double edged sword that's strong enough to wipe Putnam off the map after trailing. I can think of few weapons more powerful in a polarized state like Florida. The Trump phenomenon is reaching borderline mind control levels of effectiveness.

Ugh, Likely R.

Would’ve been Tilt D, oh well.

"Likely R" is what a lot of non Floridians seem to be saying.
Yeah, its also funny to see that most FL posters did not like Graham and saw her as an average/below average candidate, while everyone else is screaming at the fact that they didnt choose the boring, uncharismatic, daughter of a popular senator. In fact, Im pretty sure the FL posters, at least the D ones, are really happy about the results, based on posts so far.

I'm neutral, I just want things to be different in Florida and DeSantis isn't likely to do it. I'm sure he'll be a fine Governor if he wins but I'm not excited about more of the same. Especially in the wake of Rick Scott

Then vote for Gillum?

It would have been as easy as voting for him in the primary if he is who I wanted. No mistake I am too socially liberal to be an actual independent but at the same time I abhor how extreme everything needs to be.

We gotta legalize ALL the pot!

We gotta go for the gut on gun laws!

Raising taxes is socialist diatribe!

We need to be tough on terrorism!!!!!!! ........ Becuase Al-Queda is in FL right?

Jesus Christ, nowadays on both sides it's speak firmly, carry a big stick and then once you get elected make sure you swing it everywhere and tell everyone what a great job you're doing while making sure you convince the masses they are fighting for humanity itself by voting for them

Gillum is gonna have to fight fire with fire if he wants to win and all its going to do is create more sensationalism.

If this primary has taught me anything it is to not underestimate either man. DeSantis is a poor candidate. He's basically a clone of every neoconservative governor we've had since Jeb! but he is unable to stand on his own two feet. With pun intended he has the ultimate Trump card. Voter turnout I expect is going to be high for him in pretty much every area.

As for Gillum.... well we already know about him. Major progressive, he's charismatic as hell, he's backed by Bernie and he's black and that in turn is his trump card as well. I don't see the Democratic base having trouble supporting him but it's the moderates and disenfranchised Republicans who he may have trouble attracting. The dude is polarizing as it gets.

All said the ball is in DeSantis' court and Gillum is gonna have to take it from him and dunk it.

For DeSantis less is more. Milk the cash cow all you can, attack Gillum for his connection on the FBI, label him as too risky and he can probably win. Stand by Trump, keep mentioning him and the base WILL turn out for him. I know I've said it a thousand times but Trump is the most magnetic character I think I have ever seen. Damn the "unfavorable" outlook he has in the public eye.... his fanbase is ing rabid. Stick to your platform on low taxes, free enterprise, etc, etc and you're gonna do very well just like every Republican before him.

For Gillum he is going to have to win this election the same way he won the primary. He is gonna have to cover every square inch of the state of Florida at the grassroots movement. Campaign in deep reds of Florida like the Okeechobee region, the panhandle, the upper peninsula in areas like Duval and Nassau. He's only going to win if he pries votes from DeSantis' hands. Gonna sound racist but he's a slam dunk for black voters because well..... I think we know why and if he gets them out to vote he has a chance.

This election could prove to be almost as polarizing as Clinton vs Trump and it really can go either way
