I think there is a massive lack of understanding of Native Americans and Native American cultures... ignorance even.

I think some of those boys were purposely mocking the man drumming while many others legitimately thought it was just having fun and dancing and clapping a bit.

And then there is a psychopath kid in the MAGA hat standing there trying to intimidate him.  He ought to be expelled.  Any other overt actors should receive a suspension, and all of them, along with the rest of the students and staff at the school should have some Native American cultural education.

The sad truth is that racist people are particularly nasty towards Native Americans because they don't fight back.  Just look at the comments in the Youtube video.  They're much worse even than what those kids did.

You are so completely out of touch with reality and what actually happened here, but that's typical from your usual posts on here.
Just digging through some of your posting history:

I knew one of you idiots would pick up this fake news story.

Shame on you, you hypocritical piece of crap.

Oh, and nice fake news headline you losers.

From your responses it seem to that you are a troll, and you have a tenuous grasp of the English language at best. Your posts are mostly nonsensical gibberish. Replying to you is getting boring.

You have nothing to support your argument, you authoritarian misandrist troll.

You are all disgusting, and should be ashamed of yourselves.

That explains why most of your posts on here are useless garbage that offer very little insight and contains a lack of arguments about the topic at hand, and are mostly just petty insults.

So apparently, it is you who has trouble reading. LMAO.

I'm not a conservative, you moron.

How about you idiots thank our free trade agreements with countries like China, and our open borders for illegal labor.

Way to miss the point, moron.

-------------------------------------------------

You have a problem and a bad personality.

As for the video... I watched the youtube video and saw the kid just standing there staring the Native guy down.  Then I watched it again and saw the Native guy saunter in with his drum and then get in that guy's face.  I can admit when I'm wrong.  You, however, still have a bad personality.  Smiley

They weren’t black muslims...they were black israelites which is a toxic hate movement.  They shouod be condemned wherever they go.  I can guarantee they were spewing racist and very homophobic slurs at the kids, because that’s basically all they do.

Then the Natives march right in between them trying to diffuse the situation.  The kids were being disrespectful to the Natives but the entire situation was already toxic before they even got there.

The Native Americans are the only group of the three that I sympathize with here.  But this whole episode is a perfect example of our utterly broken race relations.

I know I shouldn't be surprised but the trutherism on this thread is staggering.
The right wingers perhaps with their angry defense of the catholic boys...but this story is being presented from a very narrow angle...and the amount of kneejerk reaction outrage at this is also staggering.

Could you guys maybe stop derailing the thread now?
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!! times a bajillion.

This thread has to be up there for one of the worst in Atlas history.  I think it should just be locked and if any significant developments in the story occur it can be unlocked or a new thread made.

Philips lied when he claimed the kids chanted "build the wall" at him and his group

No he didn't. Several people confirm that it happened.
Yet we have video of the entire thing, from an hour before Phillips got there to another half hour after it petered out, and no chant of "build the wall" in the video. Phillips lied.
The wall was supposed to be a metaphor so maybe the chant was silent.

Just gonna re-post this because the truth is coming together.  The amount of prejudice and kneejerk reactions and outrage spewed in this thread is, as another poster put it, staggering.  At the end of this it comes down to anblack hate group taunting kids who try to drown out their hateful slurs with school spirit chants.  Then the Native Americans come between them to diffuse things.  The students dance to the drum, disrespectfully.  The whole while the black hate group shouts hateful things at the students and Native Americans.  The students boo them and call them racist and then leave.

No ‘build the wall’, no ‘trump 2020’...none of it.

You were dooped (i was as well) by a prejudiced narrative because people assume if a white kid from the “rurals” wearing a Maga hat comes to the city, it’s to cause controversy.

They're from the suburbs of Cincinnati. Not "the rurals."
My post was pointing out prejudices.  To the big city livin no bra wearin hairy legged womens libbers types, the suburban parts of a city they’ve never heard of is “the rurals” ...and my term for city dwellers borrowed from a cult classic movie also shows prejudice and ignorance.  Thats the issue with this entire discussion.  Everybody has very glaringly inserted their prejudices into this discussion.  It aint pretty.

I lived in DC for four years and those Black Hebrew Israelites were the worst. They used to (and probably still do) stand on one of the busiest street corners in the city every Friday afternoon, in military garb with graphic posters of bloody fetuses, blasting everyone ending their workweek telling them they are going to hell, blasting white people, blasting Hillary Clinton and the Democrats. The main guy has a deep, baritone voice and uses a loudspeaker set at the maximum setting so you can literally hear him for blocks. Tourists from Ohio and locals alike. I'm not surprised that they were at the March for Life and if they were arguing with the students, I can understand why the boys were in a confrontational mood.

Liberals need to realize that racism is a two-way street. Yeah white folk have more institutional power and systemic advantage, but that doesn't mean POC racism isn't out there or that it isn't hurtful at all. It's hypocritical to blast it in one instance but ignore it in another.

The BHI cult weren't there as part of the March for Life.  They were standing there at the base of the steps to the Lincoln Memorial so they could yell at the Native American group that were gathered nearby, calling them idolators and saying that God had punished them for their sins by taking away their land. Once the students showed up, they directed their yelling mostly at them instead.

When I initially saw a very short video clip of the encounter with Phillips and the students, I found their behavior disturbing.  But the more I looked into this, the more striking thing is just the failure of adults on every side of this.  Yes, a lot of these students were acting immature and culturally insensitive. They should have been taught better.  They should have been advised not to wear MAGA hats, as this could cause distraction.  Where were the chaperones?  Maybe when crazy cultists are calling your students "f****ts" and "coons," or activists cuss at them at tell them they need to go back to Europe, it's time to adjust your plans and have them wait for the bus somewhere else!  And maybe the newsmedia shouldn't run in this situation with these students being the villains in this situation, with no criticism for the adults who were verbally attacking them & other adults.   Famous people tried to get minors doxxed and called them "punchable."  Meanwhile the school, the diocese, and a lot of influential Catholics and pro-lifers immediately went into self-preservation mode, harshly putting the blame on the kids in order to try to distance the controversy from their institutional reputations, before taking time to investigate and reflect.

While many of these students clearly need to learn how to display respect for American Indian cultures, they should at least be given some credit for the way they embraced the black boys among their group when they were singled out for abuse by the Black Israelites, or how they pushed back against their vicious anti-gay comments.  But of course they won't; doesn't fit the narrative.
Excellent post.  I couldn't agree more.

Lol yeah, these boys were totally dancing and singing "respectfully" with the elder. It's so sad that people immediately give them the benefit of the doubt because they're young white boys.

I assume you believe Mr. Philips then? What about the Black Hebrew Israelites? They were saying very nasty and profane things, and that was before Philips approached the group. Do you think these boys were responsible for provoking this entire incident?

Phillips has no association with the Black Hebrew Israelites. The kids were at the Indigenous March, which is 1.5 miles away from the March for "Life" route.
wow... you're hopeless.

So are we agreed we can excuse the boorishness, the hats, the chanting, the other video of them earlier saying what they denied they said, the testimony of ex alumni etc because another group of people there were worse.
We can agree that this has been a spectacle of the serious rot that lies at the heart of this country.  You should know that the black supremecist group that was mocking the Native Americans (hellbound totem pole worshiping idolators) as well as the kids (coon n***** esau incestuous white devils) contends white people are only fit for death or slavery...and that all gays, whom they especially hate, all should be put to death.  I’ve been harassed personally by these people.  The lack of focus on their own heinous beliefs is a serious missed opportunity.

With the way everyone has acted in this whole incident, which was spread using disinformation/“fake news” tactics leading to the Twitter account that posted the original video being banned...it is just becoming easier and easier to say “f**k all of them and f**k all of you.  You people are done for.”

The point is no one is disputing anything about the black supremscusts. But I hold educational institutions to a higher standard than fringe loons.
I understand.  I also have a bias because of personal experience...  but this is hysteria drummed up by a Twitterbot from Brazil.  Actual fake news.  We are letting malicious actors define our reality (in this case the person/s behind the edited clip posted on Twitter)
