I urge everyone to support this bill.  Cameras shouldn't be enforcing our traffic laws for obvious reasons... and cops shouldn't be hiding behind the bushes in order to catch you.

With the technology that police officers have today at their disposal, they should have no problem detecting speeders while remaining fully visible.

I agree with the bill's premise. My hometown began putting these radar guns in the trees and mailing tickets to violators. It is a real gotcha type thing which I hate more than anything. My only concern would be the extreme penalty given to people using them, but I don't have any viable alternatives at the moment.
We are blessed in Minnesota that such devices were ruled unconstitutional.

Would it be constitutional to also prohibit regional/state/local governments from doing this on federal highways?
Section 2 deals with that.  If they want to continue enforcing laws in such a way on federal highways or any other highways for that matter, they will forfeit their transportation funding.
