It could hurt Democrats because they've been advocating for an open border.  It could hurt Trump if it doesn't calm down and thus causes a worldwide economic slowdown. Too soon to tell. I still believe Bernie is unelectable. He can make it competitive but he can't win. Most electoral votes I see him winning is 2016 + MI

No it's way overhyped. The cases in China area already going down. It has not spread in the US yet and the virus has only a 2% death rate.

Stop. You, me and everyone has no idea what the effect this will have and if the virus will die down soon.

Okay, I have serious doubts that we beat Trump in the end, but COVID-19 is becoming more and more of a disaster for him. If we lose, it'll be in spite of his cartoonishly craptastic response to the virus.

Why is it a disaster for him? He didn’t start it

Literally just read the second sentence of his comment.
His response has been fine hater

Given that there are close to 500 confirmed cases across the states, I wouldn't be surprised if we see an outright pandemic here in North America. It is already occurring in parts of Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Why would that be good news for Trump? His administration is getting a lot of criticism for how this has been handled.
It's not good news for him. It's serious but being hyped up a little bit by the media. It's still far, far, far worse in China, Italy and S. Korea.

He didn't create this crisis. If he shows good leadership even if things slow down I don't see the public blaming him for it.

LOL as if Americans actually care about the nuances of why the economy is tanking.
It tanked in 2001 2002 and Bush still got re-elected Einstein

He has an opportunity to actually look Presidential for once, but he's already failing.

1) He started off by pretending this was no big deal.  Those clips are going to haunt him.

2) I don't think any of us know if the administration as a whole has been incompetent in terms of testing kits and response, etc., but he hasn't looked serious enough about it.  He basically deferred this to Pence.  That doesn't look like leadership.

3) This is yet one more instance where he seems to focus on punishing Europe, our greatest allies, above all else.  No travel to the US from Europe for 30 days?  That's ridiculous.  There's already over 1,000 cases here.

4) Whether he is blamed or not, this is tanking the economy, which was his one good talking point.  Sure he's not really to blame for that, but it's definitely hurting his re-election chances profoundly.
He has to stop the spread this will result in better economic news later on . The europe move was bold and necessary they have a bigger issue there than here.

After last night & this morning, we're at a point where the country would be right in blaming Trump for further causing the market to crash, yes.
The economy will suffer short term to stop the spread he has to contain a further spread . He can worry about the market later

Don't think the average American is paying any attention to politics right now.

Trump did at great job today. Market was up big. If Trump prevents an Italy or Korea he will get big marks from the public and will possibly ensure his re-election

The public 55-60% will unite behind Trump during this. His approval will be in the 50s all year.

LMAO
Just wait and see. Democrats chances at the election are vanishing by the day. Country doesn't want politics during this which favors the incumbent.

do you wanna bet dude? Trump's approval will go down, not up.
It's already going up. It was down to 46 in Rasmussen now it's back up to 49. It will get into the 50s next week with the ramping up of testing and the deal making today.
