Thank you for the info. Will the Midwest gubernatorial election be an true election or will it be an "election" in the sense that it has been for the last three years?

Franzl was not "recently elected", and he is not a JCP member.

I think he meant to say "Fritz".

Controversy in Dirty South
by South Park Conservative

Over the past week, the Dirty South has grown to become the center of controversy. An amendment to the constitution to give the region a legislature was initially deemed to be passed, but Vice-President Bacon King pointed out that amendments must have two-thirds support of the voters to pass. Former Senator DWTL suggested that the acting Governor SPC hold an emergency revote on the amendment, though Former Senator PiT, Vice-President Bacon King, and Former Governor AHDuke disagreed, suggesting it go on the August ballot.
Additionally, freshman Governor Daniel Adams may be facing competition for the Governor's plantation. Former Senator DWTL and Former Governor AHDuke have both expressed interest in running. There are currently no candidates for the open Lieutenant Governor's seat, as the current Lt. Governor SPC is running for Senate.

If/when NCYankee conducts a poll on any of these races, will you count them as credible for the competitiveness rating, or whatever you call it?

That could contribute to the rating. You are probably the favorite for the Midwest Governorship, but given the unpredictability of the region, I am not willing to make a definite rating on that.

Gubernatorial Approval Ratings Released
by South Park Conservative

The results of the National Weekly Atlasian's latest poll have been released. Governor Inks of the Mideast is the most popular with a 100% approval rating. Next is freshman Dirty South Governor Daniel Adams, who despite having a likely primary challenge for his re-election, has an 80% approval rating. Retiring Pacific Governor CultureKing will leave office with a 75% approval rating. Governor AndrewCT of the Northeast possesses a 67% approval rating. At the bottom of the list is Governor GMantis of the Midwest, with a mediocre 20% approval rating, which is great news for Lt. Governor Vepres, who will be running for Midwest Governor in the next election.

Can all this non-sense about Daniel Adams having a primary challenger be quashed?  I am not running unless Daniel Adams does not.  I just want it known that I want to be the DS's next governor because last time I didn't make it clear and I missed out

I believe Fmr. Governor Duke has expressed interest in running regardless of whether Daniel Adams runs.

Please keep the personal attacks out of my newspaper! DWTL, I would hope that you are not seriously considering harming RowanBrandon's or my campaigns in order to fulfill your personal grievances.

4 Out of 5 Regions Support Assemblies
by South Park Conservative

In the National Weekly Atlasian's latest poll, it was determined that four out of Atlasia's five regions overwhemingly support having an elected assembly for the regional legislature. As the only region to currently have one, the Mideast has unanimous support for their elected assembly. Next is the Dirty South with 83%, whose amendment to have an assembly narrowly failed last week, but has good chances of passing next month. The Midwest and Northeast both have two-thirds support for elected assemblies. The only region to unanimously reject an elected assembly is the Pacific region, which has a long tradition of a citizen legislature.

NWA Senate Vote Scorecard
by South Park Conservative

This is where the National Weekly Atlasian will keep track of how our senators are voting on important contested bills1. Currently, the only bill of such nature to have been voted on was the Amendment to the LGB Trade Bill, but hopefully we will have more contested votes to come. Here are the ratings so far, based on that one bill:

MasterJedi 100%
North Carolina Yankee 100%
Franzl -
Afleitch -
Fritz -
Tmthforu94 0%
Purple State 0%
Hashemite 0%
Marokai Blue 0%
Maxque 0%

1Only contested bills are included in this scorecard because otherwise the ratings would all be too similar.

What about the amendment to the LGB Dignity bill?  Wasn't that "contested?"

Define contested, I don't get it.

I'm only counting final votes for now.

Atlasians Predict Senate Election Results
by South Park Conservative

In another NWA-commisioned poll, 22 Atlasians gave their predictions over who would be elected to the Senate in August. DA Senator Franzl was predicted by most to win reelection. Next were the JCP senators Fritz and Marokai Blue. After them, Former Senator and Lt. Governor SPC was predicted to take a seat for the RPP. Senator Afleitch was also predicted to win re-election. Although they did not make the top five, DA Senator Purple State and RPP Northeast Chairman RowanBrandon were predicted as long-shots. Altogether, the poll predicted one RPP gain and one DA loss.

Is this something like the NRA? Is the NWA now picking sides on bills? I imagine you will be announcing which bills you will be scoring in the future.

You mean it wasn't clear where the NWA stood before? Tongue

Of course, but now they are really going to start picking and choosing. I am honestly no fan of this sort of political manipulation and will be voting on bills as I believe is a proper representation of the will of my constituents, rather than according to the will of the NWA.

It's a newspaper! Who says that you have to vote the way I like? Or was that a Freudian slip revealing your obvious attempts to pander to my party?

BTW, I had a Senate scorecard since I started the NWA. I just revived it for tradition.

I'm still baffled as to why the JCP does not run a third candidate, the honestly have the numbers with a little outside the support to get really close to it and still having 2 even if they miss.  What surprises me is that the RPP only has about 2 less members now.

What doesn't surprise me is that the quality of our members are far and away superior to yours.

Yeah, how could we forget such great JCP members as Tender Branson, Lunar, RosettaStoned, BRTD, Flyers2010, px75, and Daniel Z, among others?
