Well this is an odd event. Outside of all the revisionist parties and figures, Avakian seemed the most unlikely to do this. This makes the Green Party pretty alone as the few major, and most radical, party of the left that currently isn’t engaged with the Democratic Party. Among the more smaller groups; the IWW, FRSO, WWP, and American Party of Labor haven’t engaged with the Democratic Party. The PSL, SAlt, DSA, CPUSA, and now RCP do in varying capacities. All the #Bernie talking heads like Kyle Kulinski or Krystal Ball have endorsed Joe Biden.
At this point, it’s pretty evident that unlike the wider left in most of the 20th century, even the Left nominally outside the Democratic Party, have cucked out really hard to the Democratic Party. The absolute state of the Left!
I guess you can accuse them of being insufficiently leftist. . . OR maybe it's just that they realize the threat that Trump poses to democracy and the country and understand the stakes like actual mature adults.
Nah, a lot of it is because they’re very much structured in a way that doesn’t allow anything else.
The DSA doesn’t want to risk the DNC’s wrath, but doesn’t want to look like sellouts, so they did not endorse for a reason. They still are operating on this whole idea that they can hijack the Democratic Party as a whole though in official writing, so engaging in primaries is their thing
CPUSA has in all honesty endorsed and supported the democratic nominee for the past few cycles. They basically exist as a beltway scheme to bring in new voters for the Democratic Party after decades of stagnation, FBI infiltration, and revisionism. They aren’t doing anything because they despise Trump over Biden, they’re following their higher ups
in the FBI.
RCP is a cult on one man that holds more sway than than the cause. So they’ll oblige with this.
In a lot of these cases, it’s purely because they’ve either sold a long time ago, shifted beliefs, or are outfits for alphabet agencies. That’s why I was so critical beforehand, supporting Biden over Trump is fine, but the fact that what is basically 60% of the Left not already apart of the Democratic Party is doing this—and that the fact that some of them like RCP and arguably CPUSA still hold ML(M) beliefs to eventually overthrow the United States government—makes this even more pathetic.
