Galaxie for Parliament!

Me, beside a picture of me.

Hello Atlasia… Fremont… Hawaii…

My name is Galaxie (yes, with an ‘ie’), or as I’m sure you’re all wondering — “who?”

Well, I’m a lurker who had an epiphany a couple of days ago to actually start posting, so here I am!

I’m a member of the Peace Party nationally, the Centre Party in Fremont, and if elected to the Parliament hope to work with fellow MPs to protect our environment and our region’s most vulnerable — you know, the usual. Though I am new to Atlasia, I hope to bring some energy back to a game that (from what I can tell) probably needs it.

I don’t plan on boring you with a huge manifesto — I’m a progressive eco-conscious yada yada yada. Besides, there’s like a month of campaigning left to do.

If you’re curious, ask away. I’ll be honest with you, and I'm not afraid to admit that I'm new and don't know everything (or maybe even most things — but dammit I'm trying). And yes, though I may look like a conservative, don’t let it deceive you (or maybe do, if you're into that sorta thing).

Give Peace a chance!

Good luck, you seem like you'd make a fine MP.

Thank you, and congratulations on your recent victory!

Alright I may not be from Fremont but I've got a couple questions.  What's your position on the right to bear arms?  And what changes if any would you propose to Fremont's budget?  Like adding new welfare or education programs, and tax changes?

Thank you for the questions!

Guns aren't going away. First and foremost. With that being said, guns need to be better regulated. I'm not gonna step on any amendments here, but we need to be very confident that when we sell someone a gun that we know who they are. I also believe that there are types of guns that simply do not have a place in the hands of the average Fremontian or Atlasian -- take assault rifles, for example. When we give people the opportunity to customize their guns to cause maximum carnage, we should expect no less when they are used for evil.

The budget one was tougher -- that required some digging. If I'm reading this thing right, we've got a healthy surplus here in Fremont. As big of a fan of fiscal comfort as I am, I think Fremont as a region could afford to spend a little more to help the needy.

I'm a big fan of leveling the economic playing field to ensure that no Fremontian has to suffer due to a bad economic hand. Prosperity means prosperity for all, and that surplus isn't doing much good if its sitting in a big safe. I'm not saying we spend the whole thing, but I am saying we can spend more of it on public services -- education, public transit, environmental projects, healthcare -- long term investments that better quality of life. Fremont should be the envy of other regions -- the first region to eradicate homelessness, poverty. Yeah, it's ambitious, but we have to dream big.

Hope that does your questions justice! Thank you Not Senator!

Well, by a surprisingly convenient turn of events, it looks like I'm an MP now. The endless campaign wages on though, since I'm still running for the special election.

I'd like to thank YE for trusting me with his nomination, and I'd like to thank everyone else for their support!

Best,

Hello fellow reptilians!

After a brief stint in the Honolulu Corrections Facility for illegal assumption of a political office, I'm officially rehabilitated, and a convicted felon. How many of those do we have in Parliament?

Regardless, though my parole officer discourages it, I am again running for Fremont Parliament!

I'd like to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers.

VICTORIE

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Once again, I'd like to thank First Minister YE for nominating me to take Pericles' old seat in the Parliament. As my first duty in office, I will investigate what Pericles wrote under his desk and upload it to Twitter.

In all seriousness, I'm excited to serve, and hope to do Fremont proud. See you on the hill, boys!

Uh oh, my misdeeds leaked again!

In all seriousness you'll be a great MP, you have a bright future in Atlasia!

Thank you both!

And Pericles, when the cops roll up on you, you'll know why.

The Campaign
Me and my official campaign shark, Sharkie, cross the Pacific

After weeks of numbing physical labor, hallucinations, and divine revelation, my canoe trip to the mainland has finally concluded.

Why do I do this to myself?

The good, hardworking people of Fremont.

Eureka, CA: The Landfall
Me, mingling with the commoners

In my time in the Fremont Parliament, I have voted on bills, I have commented on bills, and I have even introduced a bill. What does that bill do? Something you probably won't like, but it's my bill and I'm proud of it.

Your leadership should be as bold and brash as you are, and shouldn't be afraid to crack a few jokes and let you know when they messed up.

Politics is proud, but I'm not. Elect me into Parliament for real and let the desecration of our great region continue.

Happy fourth, and g'bless.

The People's MP
My victorie rallie, and my gavel

Hello again Fremont!

For the first time, my name has appeared on a ballot, and you have chosen it.

I'm thrilled to continue serving as our Parliament's contrarian, even if it is only for another week before you elect me again Wink

Also, not sure why everyone keeps referring to me as a "he"...

Anyway, no time to talk. I'm too busy sipping tropical drinks on the beach and avoiding volcanic ash.

Coming to a City Near You!
Me and my defense forces. No assassinations today, buddy

[Insert name of Important Fremont City Here]

Hello Fremont! I'm coming to you live from [Important Fremont City] to formally kickoff my "Rootin' Tootin' Barnstorm for the People!TM".

So why should you re-elect me? Well, for one thing, I was told by He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named (Pericles) to write-in Siren, and I didn't. If that isn't a backbone, I honestly don't know what is.

Now, if that wasn't impressive enough for you, chances are you're a lost cause. But I don't give up easily. Maybe the fact that I fill out every poll that's posted, vote on every bill that's debated, and pronounce YE as "yeh" will change your mind and win your vote.

Look, Fremont -- if you don't vote me back into office, you're going to be missing out on the kind of absurdism necessary to keep this game from gnawing away at your cold hearts. Oh, also, I'm an active member of Parliament.

AMA below because I need this thread to stay on Page 1 for that sweet publicity.

The Aloha Hour
Me with a watermark because I can't afford my own photos :/

Fremont, I have an exit strategy.

Shall you decide to vote against me in this upcoming election, I will now have more to do than resent you forever -- I'll be broadcasting it and all of my other hot-takes, satire, and nonsense in my new NNN segment: The Aloha Hour! Now, don't ask me what it took to blackmail Filinovich to letting me do this, but I will tell you that it involves transferring a sizable amount of my money stored in the Caymans.

SO...

Just like electing me, I can't do this without you! If you have bad opinions, bad ideas, or just want publicity, I need as many talking heads as I can to fill the Atlasian 24-hour news cycle! Your host Galaxie can only do so much herself...

-Vote 4 Galaxie, and tune in next week!

You know EXACTLY what I'm referring to Wink

Back in the Saddle (Again)
Deja Vu!

First of all, I'd like to thank the lovely people of Fremont for my INCREDIBLE fourth place victorie! It's good enough to get me a seat, and disappointing enough to keep me humble (but mostly bitter).

Many Fremontians have asked me, "Galaxie, how can I trust that you will be an MP for ALL Fremontians?"

Well plebeians, the answer is simple. I'm going to pursue an agenda that is both progressive and knee-jerk, bold and cautious, liberal and conservative, smart and stupid. I plan on shape-shifting to the point where I am no longer me, but an amorphous blob of political sloganeering like "Fremont Forward" and "I am Not a Crook!"

By the time I leave office after this full term, I will be so flush with government cash and inflated ego that I will be unrecognizable as even human. Nay, I will be capitalism embodied, and I will open up Chick-Fil-A franchises in Maui.

I ask for all of you to blindly endorse me for whatever political office I run for way before I'm qualified for it, and for you to never check what I actually do in the Congress thread.

Enough of the nonsense, Fremont, let's git 'er dun!

To you as well!

Congrats my friend! Hopefully, you advance many progressive bills that help the poor, disabled and the helpless.
As long as I can personally profit off of it!
