Women should be allowed in, but they should have to meet the same standards as men for gaining entry. They are going to be less likely to be qualified but if they are qualified, I see no reason to deny them entry.
And they shouldn't LOWER standards so that more women can pass.
Yes, which is something that no one has suggested they do...
Fire Departments, police departments and military schools have done so.
Yeah, and it's a shame that we have all these female fire fighters and police officers who are failing miserably at said jobs.
I see you left out the military school part.
Well, I'd probably argue the same thing, though obviously military is quite different than civilian jobs. At a time when we're hard pressed to find people willing to enlist -- I'd say take all the soliders you can get.
Do you know that military schools have a high female dropout rate? And after all the whining and moaning that went on to FORCE fine institutions like VMI and the Citadel to accept women many of the women that originally went in dropped out.
The dropout rate can't be extraordinarily higher than the dropout rate for men -- though I don't know what they are.
I see what you're saying, but in the end, you still end up with soldiers (whether male or female) that you didn't have before.
