Now, I know that endorsements are a part of every campaign, but I think it takes a little of the excitement out of fantasy politics when half the voting population endorses publicly their support a while before the election -- I'm not saying don't have a preference, but wait a while until the campaign has unfolded, etc -- someone else may run that you'll prefrence higher, there may be events that cause you to rethink, etc.
I think it's a good way to keep the possibility of an upset on election weekend alive, because that's always fun
