Someone was recently saying that announcements should be made only in cases where Republican congressman are running for re-election. The rest may be presumed to be retiring. I wholeheartedly agree.

How did Kean do in this seat in the Senate race? I assume he won it, but by how much?

It's certainly possible, although there's nothing special about Ferguson. In 10 years he'll have been eclipsed by other nondescript big-pharma Republicans.

This is good news for Frank Lautenberg, especially if Kean runs.  Barring a primary loss, this definitively keeps the seat for Lautenberg, even though he still would have beaten Kean anyway.
