Arkansas is one of my favorite states because it is such a relic today. The success of Democrats there proves that the South is not dead to us. It should also shut up any idiotic liberals who believe that we should just pull out of the South altogether. If we can get the Democratic state parties organized at that level in other states, we'd have a great chance of remaining competitive in that region.
Arkansas is different from most Southern states in that the religious right has far less power there, and racial tensions are much less evident owing to a lower black population compared to the rest of the South. Arkansas is unique among Southern states, not evidence that the Democrats should focus there. (And, frankly, I'd rather the Democrats were liberal and moderate and lost every election than moderate and leftist and won every election.)
