Even ignoring the ridiculous romanticization of the past, of the eight "2010" scenarios presented, only #3 is even remotely realistic. (And the 1955 #3 is not. Try "Jeffrey sent to the Principal's office and given a good paddling by the Principal. He then returns to class, but is still unable to sit still because children just aren't good at sitting still. He is sent to the principal's office and beaten regularly, but all it does is inspire in him a hatred for authority figures and a sore bottom.")
