Exactly, Obama can do very little to control inflation, especially when there's international factors affecting gas prices.
I'm not sure if I'm comforted that our President, Barack H. Obama is not a international player having no influence with economics. Then you had better be comfortable with no President having such power because no President ever has. Presidents can destroy the international economy if they wish (obviously none do), but it is not possible for domestic policy to positively affect the international economy much if at all, certainly not on a scale of only a few years.
