One key word that was missing from the Reagan vocabulary was "restraint"

Everything was too much, too far, too big.

He and his administration's ideological desire to dismantle the great society completely forgot those who were helped by it.

His place in history was vastly overrated - he didn't bring down the Soviet Union - apart from gross overspending - forcing the USSR into a financial meltdown.

Having said that, he was the exact leader the US needed at that time.
