For the record, my rent is $589 for a 1 bedroom flat plus electric and cable.

I am trying to be more discriminate in my job search.  There is very little way I could survive on $8.35 an hour and still live somewhat comfortably.  I am not going to accept anything less than $11/hour.

De-Bushied: Enough to ensure I can eat out everyday and not have to cook for myself like any other person my age.

Jeff how much money would you guess that you spend eating out per week?

THIS is the question I'd like answered...

When I lived in the US - sure I'd eat out a few times a week. But I'd go to the supermarket on a Sunday and get pre-packaged salads, some shaved ham, some bagels, some smoked salmon (just to put in context), some hummus, a couple of tins of clam chowder. Some teabags and some milk.

If I paid more than $40 per week at the grocery store... that would have been a shock.

Bushie would lose weight if he went on a low carb diet. He could literally eat all the fat he wanted to if he stayed away from bread, rice, pasta, desserts, etc. I did that a few summers ago and dropped a ton of weight, and now I rarely eat carbs aside from fruit with my yoghurt.

But that's his diet?! And the animal-fat heavy thing doesn't work for many in the long-term and with someone of Bushie probable cardio-vascular health... increasing his fat load probably isn't the best option.

I'm not saying he should up his fat intake, but studies have proven time and again that as long as you cut out the carbs, pasta, breads, rice, processed sugars, you WILL lose weight. It seems crazy, yes, but the tried and true diet of low fat high carbs won't work, it rarely does.

But yes, I know he won't do it, because he won't give up sugars. But it works. I felt great when I was on that strict diet. I might go on it against this fall because I rarely have a craving for starches and carbs anyway.

I did in in 2002/3... also dropped a lot. But I mentioned it to my trainer... and he went bright red and said "it's fine for a few months, even years, but long-term - you need carbs"
