One I don't think Obama would do bad at this and two, Jindal wouldn't win the republican nom. So therefore this wouldn't happen.
Absolutely! It is unthinkable that Obama is an ineffective leader!
Jindal does have a chance to win the GOP nomination. He is certainly conservative enough to make it through, unless you are suggesting a minority would never make it through, which is incredibly offensive of you to say.
Indian is too close to Arab for a lot of people. Hate to say it, but it's true. Maybe in 20 years things will be different.
How many "obama is a secret radical muslim!" "Obama is an Arab!" and "Obama speaks Arabic!" scare e-mails and web forum postings have you seen? Jindal would be vulnerable to the same type of tactics.
Honestly, I don't think race will be much of an issue. Sure, there are those few backwoods rednecks who won't ever vote for anyone but a white man, but since most of them are Republican anyway, they would vote for Jindal because they agree with him ideologically, wheras Obama they don't.
As far as race goes, if Obama gets elected this year, it will change the issue of race entirely, making it easier for a minority to get elected. So race wouldn't be the issue. It's ideology.
Look at the Maryland senate race in 2006. Steel only got 20% of the black vote, and he was black! Except for the regular 90/10 split among blacks, only a few more crossed party lines because of the race issue.
