Why does Nevada get the shaft?

Considering there are four early primaries/caucuses Nevada get little if any relative attention form the national media. Is it simply because it's a new early state or for some other reason?

It always seemed to me to make sense to pay attention to the state seeing as how it is fast growing, relatively swing-y and the only Western state among the early primaries.
