Palin seems a bit nervous, and hence is speaking too quickly. Its distracting from what she is saying.

what's more distracting is her frequent use of the same words in the same sentence:

"Joe, with all do respect I respect your service..."

"Barack needs to side with the people's side..."

"He did vote on a vote to raise taxes..."

"As for John McCain's stand on regulations, his adherence to regulations were..."

Wonder how many words she has in her vocabulary.

I do like her hair down better than the bun.

I still don't like Biden's not-quite-a-mullet.

speaking of appearances, check out her lapel flag.  It's huge.  Makes Biden's look like a speck of chowder he coughed up during lunch.

Biden looks like he's had tape applied to his eyelids to stay awake.

He does have that xanax vibe tonight, doesn't he.

Reckon they gave him one or two, just to keep him from making an ass of himself?

I actually think Palin is doing a good job.

I actually think we're a very easily amused society.

Good thing, too, considering that one of these two clowns will be a heartbeat away from the presidency next year.

Oh, did she just say "nukyular"Huh

Nice.  I may just have to switch my allegiance.  I do like the way Republicans say that word.

Sometimes they aren't even answering the questions being given to them

Apparently Gwen Ifill has been so shellshocked by predictions of perceived bias that she isn't even demanding that they answering questions.  It's almost as if the rightist editorials had no intention of trying to remove her as moderator, but rather just to scare her into failing to follow up any questions, thus ensuring that Palin's perkiness and generally more pleasant appearance and demeanor would be the deciding factor.  Actually, an incredibly brilliant strategy, now that I think about it.  Downright Rovian.  And I think it may just be working.

Still, overall I find her more charming than I find Biden so far, I have to admit.  If I weren't such a geek and a politics junkie, and was just tuning in, I think the performance generally would make me more likely, and not less likely, to vote for her for vice president.

Too bad we can't let it be Obama/Palin versus McCain/Biden.  Because I still don't care for Biden.

"eye-ran"

I ran, I ran so far away.  I just ran, I ran so far away.  I couldn't get away.

And she just said "nukyular" about three times in one sentence.

Jeezus, she needs her own Henry Higgins.

I bet she knows exactly how to pronounce nuclear and Iran.  It's all part of the charm, my fair lady.

The third-person "Joe Biden" thing is really annoying.

Bob Dole wouldn't do that.

Bob Dole thinks Bob Dole would lower taxes.

Bob Dole wants your vote.

Bob Dole.

Sarah's hot tonight, folks.  Admit it.

Biden's tired.  Looks tired.  And nasty.  McCain and Biden look like dirty old men.  The kind of guys you tell your son to stay away from.  Like the old dude on Family Guy who tells Chris, "oooh, you sure do have strong arms.  Reach down in my pocket and get a piece of candy."

I think it's time for an Obama/Palin ticket.  It'd be hotter than a nukyular blast!

"john mccain, who knows how to win a war, will listen to our commanders...  he knows how to win a war."

ouch.  cringe.  at the risk of sounding crass, our war record is 12-1-1, I think, with the current war(s) yet to be decided.  Given that McCain spent an honorable, but futile, five years in a prison camp during Vietnam, of all wars, you'd think she would find a more sensitive way to say that.

LOL.  After that overplayed Couric interview, I half expected her to blurt out, "Marbury versus Madison, the Dred Scott Case, Griswold versus Connecticut, Lawrence versus Texas....  There!  As you can see I am well versed in the history of American jurisprudence  Tongue"

"Vice President Cheney has been the most dangerous vice president in United States history."

Thank you.

By the way, MODU, he says cheney the way I do.   Tongue
